Anyone else finding Heritage slow in delivering?

I won a Heritage auction over a month ago and have not received the coin. Heritage's response is, "Sorry for the late delivery, we've been very busy." I think this is an unacceptable response. Due to this I will not do business with them anymore. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have done a lot of deals with Heritage at auction and "buy it now" and have never experienced this kind of delay. I bought a coin 2 days ago with buy it now and yesterday they were already shipping the coin out to me because I have approval service with them. I hope they can get your situation rectified.

Yes. I won a lot in the Dallas sale and paid next day with a credit card. I'm still waiting to see the coin. They just sent an e mail saying they shipped out 12-29. I'm not upset but I think it's a sign of sloppy business practices on their part, or the company biting off more than it can effectively chew. No telling what will happen after the monster FUN auctions end.

    Happy New Year!

Yes, I am waiting for a couple of coins from Heritage. I paid with money I have on credit with them from a consignment. I called them a couple of times to follow up. Part of my problem was paying from a consignment. But they did say that the shipping area was backed up. If this was your first experience with Heritage, don't take it as a norm. They are very good to deal with. If this becomes a norm, then consider going elsewhere.
  • Won this almost a month ago, arrived yesterday, but it was worth the wait:

Not here. Coins and consignment checks arrive promptly.

Yes, my December 13th win, paid that night, arrived after Christmas. I had to make a phone call to shake it loose....but they are short staffed for the Holidays.

Has it really been a month? I find that hard to believe. Anyway, welcome to the boards.

    Yes!

Last internet only auction I won from them (I paid via internet that same evening) took amost two weeks to arrive -- about double the usual time.
    When in doubt, don't.
  • Thanks for everyone's input. This was my first purchase and yes it has been over a month.

A month?! Something seems fishy here. I've probably won close to 100 items from Heritage and have never had to wait more than 10 days after I paid.

Call them. Tell them if it's not on overnight delivery the next business day, you're calling your bank and disputing the purchase.

    YES.

I won an item and paid 16 days ago. I called 3 days ago and they said "oops" and that it would go out Overnight.....its 3 days later and I still haven't received. This is the first time in 3 years I've had a delivery problem with Heritage. They're closed today and when i call on Monday, it BETTER have shipped or I'm going to rip someone a new one.

  • I've won/purchased over 20 coins from Heritage in less than two years. I've never had an inappropriate wait; usually less than a week, but more often within three days and I don't live in Texas!

They're busy shipping out catalogs. I got 20 pounds of catalogs in the mail this week.

Cut them a little slack due to the massive quantity of business they're doing right now. This must be the most chaotic December they've ever encountered and probably caught them a bit shorthanded. Like other posters they've always been very timely with me in the past.

Maybe an "unacceptable response" to you, but honest. Why is prompt delivery so important to you that you would not consider future purchases? From my perspective, if the coins aren't worth waiting for, they're not worth buying at all.

  • I have bought several coins from Heritage, both in Internet only auctions and in show auctions. They always charge a fee that you would expect to receive good, fast delivery service. I have never received a coin from them in less than two weeks!!!!!!!!!!!! They charge the most and provide the least in service. I am evaluating my future buying from them. I also do not understand the delivery confirmation that they use that you can not track.image
