1838 and 1853 Large Cents Need help

Need you guys and gals help on these two coins. i don't know much about large cents. the Liberty on these is very readable and the color is nice. Ear is nice a dominant and hair stands out. Are they worth having graded?

i like the color on both, they look like original and clean AU's to me. i would think they'd look nice in white square Capitol holders.

  • They are very nice. Still, I don't think that certification will make them any more desirable or easier to move than they already are. I wouldn't have any problems coming up with a price I would be willing to pay, and I wouldn't need the reassurance as to authenticity or grade that certification would provide.

Why would you want them certified?

I think both coins would be graded, but there is no financial advantage to doing it.

BTW the word "LIBERTY" was very bold on these coins and will show even on pieces that grade in Good condition. For the Indian cents, that word is a grading point, but it is not one for these large cents.

I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
