Who deleted the several WIWAG threads? Why is this subject so off-base to some? Why is this a sensitive issue.

Though a little more candor would be refreshing.
1. CU is always right
2. If CU is wrong, please refer to rule #1.
Card Fraud Update
- January 31, 2003
On Friday, January 17, 2003, John Slight and Craig Kreider of When It Was A Game, Inc. (WIWAG), pled guilty to a mail fraud charge filed against them in December of 2002. They were accused of inserting inferior sports cards into holders and selling them as higher rated cards. If someone has purchased a card or cards from WIWAG, either directly or indirectly through innocent parties, the purchase may or may not involve one of these replaced cards.
WIWAG has agreed with the U.S. Attorney's Office and the FBI Office of San Diego, California to make restitution to those purchasers of cards which involved fraudulently inserted cards. PSA has been and is working closely with the FBI in assisting in the restitution process.
In accordance with the restitution agreement the following notice will be sent to purchasers of sports cards from WIWAG, directly or indirectly through other parties:
Dear Purchaser:
When It Was A Game, Inc. ("WIWAG") has pled guilty to a federal mail fraud charge involving inserting inferior sports cards into PSA-sealed holders ("slabs") for higher rated cards. Your purchase of a card or cards from WIWAG, either directly or indirectly through innocent parties, may or may not involve one of these replaced cards.
WIWAG has agreed that PSA will determine the true grade of your card or cards if you so desire. If your card or cards are determined to be fraudulently inserted cards, WIWAG will replace your card with a card that has been properly graded by PSA in exchange for the card you actually purchased. If no replacement card graded by PSA is available, WIWAG will either refund your purchase price (in exchange for the card), or, if you elect to retain the card, will pay you the difference in market value between your actual card and the rating represented on the slab at the time of your purchase.
If you would like to have your cards so assessed, please contact San Diego FBI Victim/Witness Coordinator Liz Bollig at 858-499-7952, or write her at 9797 Aero Drive, San Diego, California 92123. In order to avail yourself of this opportunity, please make contact with the Victim/Witness Coordinator within 45 days of receipt of this communication.
Customers who believe that PSA holders in their possession contain cards fraudulently inserted by WIWAG, should contact the FBI Victim/Witness Coordinator for possible restitution in accordance with the above process and agreement.
everyone talked about it ...a lot.
100 count threads were the norm back when it happenned
maybe they do not have the actual numbers so a list is impossible, maybe Marc is right and CU prefers to keep the whole thing underground.
think about it billa,
if your car was stolen, would you get mad at ford for not making the car impossible to steal or would you just blame the thiefs?
if your card looks overgraded or has any type of problems, send it to PSA ...if the plastic looks cloudy or you just get a bad vibe..send it to PSA.

Sometimes I get the feelinga thata youa are an 'ex-one-of-us' playing the old 'deer in the headlights' trick. In other words, are you really a newbie or an ex-poster?. Reasons and observations below:
1) you definitely want to publically stir the wiwag drink. Have you tried contacting Joe personally? Everybody knows wiwag is like Area 51 and certain isotopes of uranium around here.
2) is wiwag all you're interested in? How 'bout '66 high numbers or deckle-edge grading criteria?
3) is this a martyrdom mission? If so, you're succeeding.
4) do you really think psa, at this point, would come on here or elsewhere and say 'gee-golly, about those wiwag issues guys: hey, here's a list of cards and bla, bla, bla...................' ???? Come on, even JoeStalin isn't that dumb.
5) I do like the first part of your forum name.

I'm back! I guess I didn't get the boot yet from the chat room!
I am new here for the first time. I probably have more collecting and investing experience than most of you. I put my first NrMt-Mt card in a safe place, a Mickey Mantle All-Star, in the year of '61. I was one of the first to jump on the PSA bandwagon to have cards graded. I have an extensive collection that would blow you away.
Oh, hum! However . . . I don't care how many types the fife and drum corps beat the drum and I don't care how many times Grandpa Joe kicked the dog . . . if there are fraundulent cards in our market . . . they need to be weeded out. That's it, in the simplest terms possible.
Now, any of you guys have any 1952 Red Man Tobacco PSA Ted Williams you would like to part with?

I advised J. Warren Bowman to get into the card market, told Topps they really oughta go to 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" cards, socked away hundreds of mint Rose rookies because I knew he was the real deal and, oh yeah, I invented bubble gum. I have a bunker in the Hollywood Hills to store my collection.

Do any of those cards have the same serial number?

Dav's next door neighbor is a card collector too? What are the chances of that?
Cool . . . must of been after Topps asked me about the 5 cent packs; gave me all of their original art; awarded me 500-count boxes of '54 Aarons, '55 Clementes, and '56 Mantles for my input; and let me sort through the unsold last series of '52 boxes before putting them on the barge and dumping them in the ocean. They also hooked me up with H&B so I could sort through their old bats for my collection . . .
