Last time: Learning coin photo, comments and grades on this Morgan?

I bought a bank roll of 1883 O Morgans recently and have been learning to photograph the coins. This is one of the average coins in the roll, I think the photographs are coming out OK. I grade this at MS 63, any opinions? I am really appreciating all of the comments and education.

I think you're close on the grade and you may want to alter the white balance on your camera to get the orangish tint out of the pics.

Rick, the luster tells me MS. The softness of a typical O mint morgan is par for the course, but it just looks like a slight rub on the high points of the obverse. Still a nice looking coin. The rim dings may keep it from slabbing though. If that is not the true color of the coin I'm seeing in your images, you may want to change the light settings on your camera.

I think 63 is about right assuming there's no rub on this coin. I think the surfaces could pretty nearly justify a 64 grade if the luster is all there. There are enough rim dings that I don't see this any better than 63 overall, though.

Thanks folks yes there are some rubs on the high points. I got 5 other coins that are far superior to this one out of the roll so I am pleased. I am reluctant to fool around with them until I get the camera thing down, would hate to damage a high grade coin while learning photography.

Looks like the typical coin that you would expect out of an original roll, and well over 80% of these grade 63. I think you have it right on the money, MS63 with the typical soft centers noted for this date.
