Gold "Type" Set On Ebay -- Polished/Cleaned?

This ungraded set has been bid up to $3.5K. Some of these coins have an unnatural look, at least to me, since gold doesn't normally have this type of sheen. I think they've been polished/wiped and someone's really going to take it in the shorts -- the Liberty head quarter and half, along with the $1 coin, simply can't be original surfaces, and the Indians are similarly suspect. Anyone agree? Some pics:

And don't rule out the chance that one or two are counterfeit. At first blush I'm not too impressed with the $2.50 liberty.
I don't know what anyone would want to buy this. Not only are you buying sight unseen you don't get the fun of cherry-picking your own set. To me all the fun is the SEARCH for the coins and finding the best coins for the grade and price. Buying it all at once takes all the fun out of it, IMO.
