    Boring is personal opinion. Some might think quarters and others might think Ike dollars. I vote SBA dollar.

    Varieties ... OK, OK so it's not a coin series but I think varieties are boring. In particular, the ones you need a microscope to find.

    What coin series is the most boring? That's a tough one but I'd have to say Ike dollars.

    None of them are boring, there is something interesting about all of them if one takes the time to learn about the history behind them, why the designs were chosen, what designs were rejected. They all have a story behing them and speak to some and not to others. One of the most interesting things to me about this hobby is how collectors react to and talk about the coins they enjoy. Everytime I go to a coin show, small or large you can see the folks delving into the hobby. Some will be searching through binders, others 2X2's, others trying to swing deals on or find expensive coins. It really is a crossroads of the interests in collecting thay we humans have. I am always fascinated to hear from others what sparked their interest and why they collect what they do.

    I would guess that especially the younger collectors, those under 40 will find that over time that coins they once found uniteresting they will come to enjoy.

    I am curious why Ike's to you would be more boring than proof Rosies? Not that I find either boring or all that exciting.

    Personally, I think three cent nickels are the most boring. Moderns just don't do it for me, too 20th century. Uber moderns are boing because many of them don't contain silver.

    I'm with robertpr, variaties that need super glass to see don't do anything for me, however, don't agree Ikes are boring.....try putting together a set that are spot and haze free.....quite the challange especially on the proofs........always thought seated liberty series were boring....but having a change of heart......Rick

    Ikes are fricking BORING,as are Roosies and Frankies in the set i collect,i just happened to get stuck with 1957 as a birth year set !

    Has to be Ken halves., IMO

    Honestly Morgans are pretty boring to me for a 100+ year old coin that you can pick up BU, for many dates, for $20, you know there are boat loads of them and quite litterally everyone's grandma has one.

    #9: 2 Cent Pieces

    #7: Sac Dollars
    #6: Jefferson Nickels
    #5: JFK Halfs
    #4: Lincoln cents
    #3: Washington Obv Quarters (like the statehood reverses but the obverse is snoresville)
    #2 snoozoid and initial gut first choice for #1: Roosevelt dimes
    But the all around flat out #1 snoozer award goes to: Anthony Dollars

    For some reason I can't stand Lincoln unless it's blast red, otherwise it just isn't appealing. But I don't think I choose that series.

    Well, im not as strong in collecting in the hobby as I used to be. The series that once appealed to me no longer do. In a few years I could take my losses and quit coin collecting, who knows.image

    Shield Nickels (except for the often outrageous die cracks)

    Circulated Franklin halves
    Slabbed silver eagles in mint state

    All of these are really boring to me. I like them in proof varieties though, especially DCAM.

    Anything with a dull design of a dead president...pretty much everything we use now.

    Lincoln die varieties are included in that bunch, but they are a challenge - which is why I like them. I didn't pick them to specialize in because they were pretty.

    I've always thought capped bust halves were boring. I guess they seem too common for such an old coin. I don't like Barber DImes, but the reverse makes the Barber halves and quarters cool! I love Liberty nickels! I love all moderns!

    Does anyone agree that silver eagles and gold eagles are the most boring coins to collect? It's the same thing year in, year out. (I think their nice coins, but from a collecting standpoint, I don't get it.)

    id say State Quarters are sucha waste( IMB) but besides them the sac dollars are not much fun either. Ikes could be fun if they can be found in circ still. if i see one ill pull it till i realize its not gonnahelp my book . if it does great if not then i pass.

    I know this is a bit off topic - but what I'd LIKE to collect are low relief coins with obverses depicting homely women or old dead dudes and reverses of inartistically rendered buildings! Just can't get enough of them - especially in circulated condition and in base metals. Yeee-ha!

    Any series with no key dates, naked eye errors, or fascinating historical tie-ins is dull to me. Any series that is a monotonous run of relatively high mintage dates would qualify. Examples would include proof Barber halves and (sorry) Frankies.
