Opinions on 1848 Large Cent

I purchased this 1848 large cent as an AU50. I would appreciate any opinions on grade, cleaning, attribution.
Thanks in advance.

I really like te color and the overall look. Appears to be original.
  • It may have had a dip long ago, but it doesn't matter - to me at least image
Any luster? I'll call it AU50 or XF45.

No luster from what I can tell, I was curious as to if it might have had an old cleaning?

I'm leaning toward XF45 myself, but the fact that it is virtually mark free really caught my eye.
  • Amazingly mark free. Sweet coin!
2 spots trouble me. Looks like someone tried cleaning out her ear but that could be the photo.
On the reverse just below the ERI in America looks cleaned and covered up but the photo is a bit blurry there so who knows.
Overall, I love the coin & I think it was a good buy. Easy 45 just might make 50.image

EF sharpness, but cleaned and recolored long ago.

Still it's reasonable attractive and would fit well with a middle grade date or type set.
