Countryside, IL Coin Show Report. Not exactly "live", but better late than never.....

Last Sunday was the monthly Countryside show in a Chicago, IL suburb. It's a great show that we once attended on a monthly basis. Due to a growing national show schedule, we only set up once in awhile now. We did manage to have a corner table at the show on Sunday and we were glad that we attended. It was a GREAT show for us. Very, very busy. I took a few pics, but only 1 turned out. It gives a pretty good idea of the show activity. It was steady from start to finish.

Several forum members stopped by. I offered to take pics, but nobody was interested. MadMarty was there in full force. I didn't see many coins in his Slab Caddy (tm), but he said that he did purchase a few things. He started to harrass our new assistant, Jessica, about his weenie coins, but they have great security at the show and he was tazered quickly. Agentjim stopped by to say hi. Several others came over to say hi as well. We had fun talking with forum members, although there was not much time for chit-chatting.

Sorry this report is so short, but it at least gives you an inside view of what the show is like. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.


This is a picture from the corner of the room. The bourse is a bit larger than the image would indicate, but you get the idea. The corner table in the foreground is our table. You can see Andy working hard with a customer. The young lady in the picture is Jessica, the newest member of our team. Actually, I just heard today that Andy hired a numismatist in Chicago, so I guess Mike is the newest member of the team......

Everyone. Thanks for all the great questions about our company, Jade Rare Coin. It is always nice to keep a coin thread on topic. Geeeesh.

About Jessica, she is single and much more attractive than the image would indicate. Coinlieutenant was close regarding age, but a couple of years too much. Her previous job was professional modelling. Lingerie or something....I don't remember what the resume said.

Truth is, she loves coins and is very talented and highly intelligent. She is a great kid.

So now that we are sort of back on topic

This is a show I look forward to when I'm in the area. It's got a big parking lot, big bouse floor area (with isle space), and lot of people I set up by the stage in the pic- my back table was the stage.

Thanks...yeah bought that at the Santa Clara show...it turned out to be a top pop...but I am building an 1872 date set and fell in love with this coin

I think Marty, Cam, etc. keeping putting OT stuff on this thread to divert attention from this monthly show so others don;t attend. That way they get more of the "show treasures".

About the show:

It is a great monthly show in the suburb of Countryside. It is held on the second Sunday of each month. Lots of fun and always something new to look at. Looks like Countryside was busy for y'all. Your new helper, from what I read and noticed, seems to know what she is doing. And Andrew, well, he doing what he does best .
