  • The 5th was a sunday. The guy might not have mailed it till Tuesday which is just over a week in the mail. The regular mail has really slowed down with the holiday rush. I've had priority packages (2-3 days usually) take up to 6 days to get to me. Give it a few days or e-mail him and ask when it was actually shipped.

  • This looks exactly like a coin I'm waiting on. Won it on the same day as you, but different feedback so not the same seller. He sold one to a buyer on the same day halfway across the country and that buyer has recieved coin and left feedback. Just hoping it's slow mail I will wait till Friday to ping him on the shipping status.

I'd probably just e-mail the seller within the next day or two (if the coin hasn't arrived) and ask when they shipped the coin.
  • 3 Weeks from the day you paid except for this time of year I'd wait 4 weeks, but NO more!

  • Dont jump the guy yet - its holiday season and the mail is very backed up.

Just echoing everyone else's comments. It's the Christmas Rush, so mail tends to take a little longer.

I'd email the guy and keep in touch, but I wouldn't start fretting about the whereabouts of the package until next year. Enjoy the holidays and don't get all knotted up about a little sixty-six dollar coin.

Thanks for the comments, I was getting nervous because
1). I have bought alot since then (many also from CAL/ Wash)) that I have recieved,
2). I never got an invoice/e-mail from him, but paid the paypal in the "You have Won -pay now "screen.
3). My e-mail from monday on status was not answered.

    I'll just wait.

  • Its very simple folks. If the person doesn't answer your emails, just lodge a complaint with paypal. That will get his attention. I had one guy say he will mail me a coin within 3 days by Express mail and took the money for that but I didn't receive it even within a week. He wouldn't answer my emails.

Logged a complaint with Paypal and the guy called me home saying he mailed it by parcel post. I received the coin, but I didn't make a big issue out of it and cancelled my paypal complaint.

You should have given this info in the first post. #1 and #3 might change my answer.

It really amazes me how many buyers and sellers on eBay simply will not communicate with their trading partner. In this case, a simple relply to the PP email by the seller would have avoided all this. I make mine short and sweet, this was my reply to the nine coins that were paid for Sunday night that I mailed Monday:

    Hello,

Thanks for the quick payment! Your coin will ship out today via first class insured mail.

That's all a seller needs to do. The buyer knows the seller received the payment, and when the seller is going to ship their coin. No quesswork or wondering if the seller even sent the coin.

On the flip side, I have had buyers that never responded. Their payments just show up in the mail a few days after the auction ends.

Yep, exactly. When I sell, I generally send three e-mails: (1) the invoice upon close of auction, (2) the acknowledgment of payment (and expected shipping date) and the (3) acknowledgment that the coin has shipped. If I've used delivery confirmation I give that number as well.

On the buy side, if it's more than a week after payment has cleared and you haven't heard from the seller, just send e-mail to them for a status update. At that point there's no reason to be anything less than cordial; you're just checking to make sure they received your payment and to see when the coin shipped (or remind them to do quickly if they haven't).
  • I really would not excited.

Here in the real world, things just don't always go as we would do them ourselves. And, it would be boring as hell and we wouldn't have anything to complain about!.. image
  • there are many sellers that do not haul to a post office the same day that payment is received . if they work a regular job , then driving 4-5 times a week is a nuisance . I have a buyer that was not happy with purchase . refund is waiting , but its been a week and the coin has not arrived .
