Baseball - Any and all of the Caray's
Basketball, Football and Hockey - None

  • Brent Musberger is the worst. He is so 'business like' when he announces games. Just doesn't seem to have any passion for the games he is announcing. It is a total downer when he is announcing a 'big game.'

  • Pat Summerall.

He only states the blatantly obvious, and he's about 5 seconds behind what's happening.
  • Give me a break!! I hate Richard head Vitale!!! image

Paul McGuire, Tim McCarver and Bill Walton when he does his "Who will <insert comment> bit" 100 times during a game.

Tim McCarver, John Sterling, Joe Morgan (maybe the worst of all time).

Jim Palmer is a boring psuedo intellectual. For a guy who was a great player, I now know why Earl Weaver could not stomach him.

Walton is one of the worst IMO. Vitale is pretty bad. Magic Johnson is also lousy when he does it... Hmmm, who else bites? Darrell Waltrip (NASCAR). John Madden is up & down...

Well if we are talking all time greats we have to include LT. Also, I don't know if Eric Dickerson counts since he was on the sideline but he was also so bad you couldn't wait until they went to him again. Siragusa has definetely taken the reigns as the worst sideline reporter.
  • Baseball.....Tim Mccarver and Joe Morgan!
    Football......Dan Deirdorf
Basketball...Bill Walton...I refuse to watch a game he is announcing and I want to slap the person who taught him to speak!

NHL Is not real sport and I could care less!

Yeah, I've seen like 2 games with him and he is a fool, plain and simply put

Tony Siragusa eats up playing the role of the buffoon. He's pretty bad, but at least he's a minimal distraction most of the time.

My votes for the worst have to be the entire ESPN sunday night crew. They are bad, they argue, they are just stupid (and Joe Theismann is horrific).

Chris Collinsworth gets a very, very close second place vote. His obvious jealousy of the players today and the money they make is painfully obvious, too.

  • I forgot about Walton!!! He really SUCKS!!!! Vitale really SUCKS!!! I try to find an alternative sound source when Dick calls the games!!! image
  • Why do you all hate Joe Morgan?

If you're gonna post who ya hate, ya gotta tell us why. I think he's pretty good.

Jim Gray. Hands down. What a jerk.

Joe Morgan is up there, but far far behind Gray. Sorry Scottie, can't tell you why, just don't like him. And he was one of my favorite players as a kid.
Bill Walton is annoying, Dick Vitale is too. Rick Monday is just boring. Bob Uecker seemed pretty out of it the last few times I heard him.

Agree whole heartedly on Joe Morgan. Loved him as a player, but he is a snooze fest listening to his announcing.image:

  • Close between Joe Buck and Jim Gray. Gray narrowly edges out Buck for the announcer I can't wait to get off the air. When Gray grilled Pete Rose and tried to steal the show that was just plain wrong. Gray's interviews I saw this summer with golf pros didn't enthuse me either.

I wish someone would lure Joe Buck out of St. Louis! I can't stand to even watch/listen to him sell automobiles, restaurants, etc. His father, Jack Buck, was a class act and we miss him in St. Louis.

I see a lot of people don't like Tim McCarver but I actually don't mind him.

Ditto Mr3 - McCarver is the "color man", not the drone, and I think some folks just don't like his opinions - but that is what he is paid to do. He is not the "announcer" like a Jack Buck, Red Barber, etc...

Same on Walton IMO - yes he is "out there", but I find him entertaining. We all know half the stuff he says is nonsense, but that's his gig. You are supposed to laugh at him sometimes.

Morgan is also just being the "color guy" to a drone - and he is fortunate that his lead man is Jon Miller. I think they work well together. Morgan is knowledgeable - only his style stinks.

Jim Gray is a clown. But he is not an "announcer." He is a reporter.

Having spent many years in NY, I agree that John Sterling is an annoyance. I can't figure out why he is "the voice" of anything. Frank Messer was also a blubbermouth in NY I could never figure.

    End of rant. Regards.
