A couple of NEWPS from Worcester show - Morgans

I went to the show, which is the last coin show I'm going to attend... this year in Mass, I may go to one more show in NH and that will wrap my coin show attendance in 2004. The show looked busy, but not too busy, Two dealers were complaing about another dealer buying practices while I was looking at the inventory which I thought was really funny. The main reason aka excuse for me going to that show buying supplies. I bought what I needed then I went looking and bought a couple of rolls of lincolns and two silver eagles. finally I stopped at a table with a moster toned columbian, I took a ;look at a couple of trays, I did not buy the columbian it was a nuce au but I left with a lighter wallet and a couple of raw Morgans.

If you know Morgans give it a shot grading them!!!!

1897 Morgan
This is a lower grade Morgan but with a nice toning. Is this called tab toning? I'm not sure about it's being called. Bought for $44.00, which I think it was an ok price for it.

1889 Morgan
Nice strong strike and good lustre. Bought for $55.00, I think it's a great price for it.

1921 Morgan
Nice strike and very frosty. Bought for $80.00, hmm...... probably overpaided for this one.

I like that 21, I'm beginning to get the idea to collect 21d morgans. Seems like a cool idea, being a one year mintmark coin and all.

I was at the Auburn (Worcester) show today and it was sort of subdued. No doubt gold fever has subsided a bit and calmed things down. I didn't see anything that made me want to jump in today.
And of course no one was giving anything away either. I sold 2 gold type coins and a proof 65RB 2 cent piece. The buyers were certainly backing off a little. Some of the regulars didn't make the show today. I suspect the competing New Haven, CT show may have taken a few hostages. Toned Dollars and I chatted for a few minutes which was nice.

roadrunner, it was great to talk to you again at the show. He showed me a few of his personal coins WOW.

Really neat coins. If you do not know Brian he has some really great stuff. I keep looking at this Morgan he has with a little tiny crescent of color on it. If it was only a little bigger. Do you think you could send it back for a little more toning at the toning factory.image

  • I like the 1889 -- Very Nice Luster, not many hits.

    I'll Guess:

    1897 - 63
    1889 - 65
    1921 - 64
