Went to the Bank the other day,...

I go almost every other day to deposit checks into my business account.

I always ask the teller if they have any $ coins or $.50 coins in the drawer.

Usually I get five or six coins between Sacs, Susan B., Ikes and Kennedys, I put them in the piggy bank for hard time money( actually I'm starting a Sac hoardimage)

The teller hands me this coin and says she doesn't know why this it's so shinyimage

First time I found one of these in circulation, so would this coin be a AU coin or PF when naming a grade??

  • It is still a Proof coin so its designation will always stay PR even if it was a PR-35 grade. It would be PR-55 or so based on the pics.

As Mr. Kiefer stated, it's a PR.

PROOF is a manner in which a coin is made, not a condition. So by circulating a PROOF coin, won't wear off the PR attribute.

I always enjoy finding proof coins in circulation but can't help wondering how they got there? Somebodies child find the set and think that Mom/Dad/Grampa won't miss just one?

    Exceptional find for you! image
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

The market considered such coins as impaired proofs and it'e death to their value. My son once found a Washington proof in circulation.
