Serves he right!!! I remember that offer. I thought to myself: who does he think he is? That was a legitimate contract offer he got. Now he sees that it was right after all. What a punk.

Plus he agrees to be in a commercial to show the world how whipped he is. "Thanks beautiful - I'm glad your still respected".

How would you all feel if your team was actively trying to trade you away, then trying to bring in someone to replace you?

Would you honestly say you'd be ok with that?

Come on now, be honest with yourselves...it's easy to look past the money and say 'the guy's a punk!', but in actuality, I'd suspect most people would have the self-respect to want to go somewhere they were wanted.

Oh, as far as the Mia Hamm commercial goes, he's 'whipped' because he loves her and supports her?

    You, sir, are a MORON.

I love and support my wife too but sorry, that commericial was gay. MORONS around the country agree with me.

I have to agree with AXtell on this one.

    Real men love there wives.
Real men are not afraid to say that they love their wives
Real men are not afraid to say that they are proud of their wives when they do something good.

Pretend, homo-phobic, insecure men are the
only ones worried about "sounding gay" by
expressing love or pride for their wives.

OK "real" men- If Nomar made this commerical a few years ago when he was still loved as Nom-ah then maybe he gets away with it. But since it came out at a time when he was no longer a god, when there is a picture of his entire team standing on the railing during a rally while he sulks on the bench then it was a bad idea. It just gave people another punch line and if you think he was not made fun of for it you weren't listening. The Sportsguy alone referenced countless times - sports talk radio had jokes about it. Sorry that you missed all this, guess you were watching Bridget Jones's Diary at the time.

Self-respect? I'd take the $60 million and deal with it.

Sorry, sir, that you are so against men supporting their women.

I don't count 'the sportsguy' as a point of reference-obviously you do, and therefore your decisions are going to be seriously skewed.

I feel sorry for your wife/girlfriend (assuming you have one...with this attitude, I'd suspect you're a lifelong bachelor SERIOUSLY in denial about his own, uhm, 'identity').

    Axtel,
Of couse I support my wife, but I can do this without being whipped. It was a common joke over the summer about Nomar being whipped, whether he deserved it or not it happened. I'm sorry you don't follow baseball enough to have noticed that this is what my little quip was referring to, but instead you rushed to judgement calling me a moron in your ignorance. I guess you don't read the same columnist or listen to the same sports radio stations as I do, but I usually agree with the Sportsguy so if to you that is skewed, then you are right I am skewed.
