I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about this. almost all the 70`s i see on ebay have been graded by them. how do they compare to other grading companies? I don`t have many slabbed coins, but have alot i would like to get slabbed. I`ve never heard of them before i started ebaying.
If you can read this, your too close.

All I know about SGS is that they have virtually no credibility in the world of coin collecting. Type in SGS in the search box on this forum and you can see several threads brought up about SGS. You will see that submitting to SGS would just be a waste of money, and that many of their so-called 70s have flaws.
ANACS has a lot of credibility and are widely considered in the top three grading services behind NGC and PCGS, so that could be a good place to start. There are a lot of Franklin Half collectors that could better advise you on where to submit. Good luck.

<< <i> HEY, I`m new here, if i had realized i could access the old threads i never would have asked a stupid question to begin with.LOL >>
No problem. Took me about a couple of months to see the search feature myself.

<< <i>SGS grades so many 70's because discriminating collectors know the best, and send only their finest coins to SGS for grading. >>
How long till that's quoted in one of their auctions?
Easy. Start with a 65 then write 70 on the label.
<< <i>How does SEGS get all those 70 s? >>
That's easy they manufacture them just as they many of their grades. There is a good reason why SEGS coins sell for less.

Why BillJones brought up SEGS I don't know. SGS is not SEGS.
My mistake, but what I wrote about SEGS still stands. Their grades are generally more liberal than the "big two," and their coins sell at lower prices as a result.
