Auction participants from the 80's. Help Please.

Does anyone recognize this auction type of tag. The one with the number on it. Three Mercs were received and two of them came out of a auction dated 1-6-88 and the third came from a auction dated 1-20-88. Two of the coins have consecutive PCGS numbers and have just gorgeous tone. All three have the collectors notes on the right hand side. My guess is that these are, in dealer terms, Fresh coins.

Thanks for the info if you can help.

I don't know if this would help but I'd guess one of the auctions would have been held at the FUN show?? Maybe?

But...whatever it is....screw the slabs. Show us the coins! image

imageimage...I cannot get good pictures of them...imageimage You would really like them though. Two are very nicely toned and the third has a proof like reverse. All in old Rattlers. I'll try again for some pictures.

Send them to me, and I'll take nice pics of them image

    Those aren't auction tags.

I think that it is from Teletrade. The P # definitely is and I would think that the other notations were the purchasers.

Julian hit it on the nail. It's a Teletrade label. I was very active buying coins from them in the 80s to the 90s. I still have quite a number of coin from them housed in 1st, 2nd PCGS holders and some thick NGC holders.

I agree with Julian. Definately looks like Teletrade tags to me. I was a buyer at that time - all by phone!

Old Teletrade tags they are indeed ... circa about 1991-4, maybe earlier
