Anyone ever bid on e-bay live auctions? I need help.

I placed an absentee bid for a live auction and when I entered it showed me as the current high bidder. Nothing showed up in "My E-Bay", I assumed this was because of the live auction type. The auction ended earlier tonight and my bid does not show on the item even though it was higher then the final sales price. Did I do something wrong are do these not finalize right away?
