American Eagle Grading

I may have to eat my words but please the opinion of the board. If you had 20 1986 American Eagle's still in the original roll who would you send it to for grading?

  • Unless you think they really have a shot @ MS-70 I say no. MS-69's don't bring enough money to warrant the added expense of grading. Most are MS-68 to MS-69 quality and it might be best to sell them raw or keep them raw whatever you plan to do.

  • I haven't open the roll yet so I don't know but your the second person to give me that advise. Think I'll heed it and watch Silver prices.

PCGS would be my choice, if I were going to have them graded and slabbed. My Eagles are staying in their Mint tube though. image

Mine stay in the tube too, don't like adding a grading fee to 20 coins for little return. '86's are good ones to have. I just got my '96 roll last weekend at the coin show...now, those are hard to find in an original roll and I sure can't stand 20 grading fees tacked on to those, I'm still limping from that one.
  • Ya I know what you mean I've been dying to get a roll of 96's but the price is high. I have several graded MS69 and 70 and don't want to part with them to but the roll so I'll bide my time.
