pc , how could paypal do that ? it is not possible. if I have no money and pay by credit card , they can't tell me later that they took it from my bank? makes absolutely no sense to me. once I switch it to cc then it is a cc payment

wanna bet? they can switch you to an echeck and they usually do when the seller is a new paypal user.you may not have realized it but ive seen it,expressed my displeasure and have in the past had to place stop payments due to paypal's methods.
before the transaction is finalized , isn't the listing source verified . i.e. $10 from balance $100 from cc $ xxxxxx0987 . after you accept that form of payment , how could they change it since you did not approve it. if they did , this is another one of those things they will ahve or will be sued for.
the funny thing is I bet they did not even shut down his paypal id so or try to lock his account. anyone who paid or needs to pay still can and they won't do a damn thing about it.
it really is in the user agreement.paypal's computer changes your payment method by blocking what you THINK you're using IF THE COMPUTER CONSIDERS THE TRANSACTION TO BE RISKY TO PAYPAL.they basically eliminate your right to a credit card refund or your using the office of the postmaster general AND THEY WONT REVERSE YOUR PAYMENT OR ISSUE A REFUND.you can only contact your bank and attempt a stop payment.i say attempt because some banks insist upon a check number or that you utilize their fraud department which may result in your credit card cancellation and checks requiring a new number!.
per paypal's user agreement, it states they will never make transfers from your bank account without your authorization
6.4 Electronic Transfers. When you make a payment through PayPal that is funded with Instant Transfer or eCheck, and when you initiate an "Add Funds" transaction you are requesting an electronic transfer from your bank account. Upon such request, PayPal will make electronic transfers via the Automated Clearing House (ACH) system from your U.S. bank account in the amount you specify. You agree that such requests constitute your authorization for such transfers. PayPal will never make transfers from your bank account without your authorization. PayPal provides you protection against unauthorized withdrawals from your bank account under the terms of the Electronic Fund Transfer Rights and Error Resolution Policy below.
Choice of Funding Sources. PayPal reserves the right to limit an account-holder's choice of funding sources for any individual payment based on analysis performed through proprietary risk modeling systems. When PayPal decides to limit funding source choices, the account holder will be alerted to the higher-than-normal level of risk associated with the payment. If PayPal determines that there is a higher-than-normal level of risk, this is not an indication that either party in the transaction is acting in a dishonest or fraudulent manner; it is merely an indication that the combination of variables in the transaction has alerted PayPal that the potential for payment repudiation is unacceptable. The account-holder may choose to continue with the transaction using the available funding sources (if any), with the understanding that he or she may be accepting an additional level of transactional risk. Thus, the account holder may have fewer avenues available for dispute resolution should the transaction turn out to be unsatisfactory. For more information about protecting yourself from the risks associated with online transactions, please visit PayPal's Security Center.
They will give you the choice to make funding changes but will not change your cc payment to a echeck after the fact. Jim

correct.they will change your credit card payment to an echeck BEFORE completion and you will NOT receive an alert/popup or any other NOTICEABLE notification before your payment type undergoes change.it happened to me last night when making payment for another ebay user and i discussed the transaction at length with "Robert",last night's acting supervisor.
