    Welcome, Jay.

The answer to your question is dependent upon a number of factors such as : what type and quality of coins you have, when you might want to sell them, whether they fit in well with other coins to be consigned to a particular sale, how much weight you give to things such as customer service, imaging, buy-back and commission fees, etc.
  • Hi to all and thanks so much for the quick reply.

I think it is better to ask which auction house has a very good or maybe the best reputation in US coin sales.
My concern is that I don't want to go to the wrong place or people.

  • There is also the following coin in there:

    1763 Dansk Amerika XII. Skilling
There is a ship on one side and a crown and initials on the other side.
What kind of coin is that ?

K500 - PM (private message) sent to you.
  • Buy a redbook (Coin price guide at any major bookstore) and try to get an idea of what
you have. Most auction houses won't deal with small amounts of coins. (I like Heritage Coins,
but they want a minimum of $5,000 submission)

There are so many ways to sell coins; it is hard to answer without knowing what you have. It
would be like asking where to sell an old lamp. The possibilities range from the yard sale/pawn
shop level to a major antique auctioneer for a Tiffany Lamp.

Best advice; go to a local coin dealer to try to get an idea of what price range you are dealing with.
