My Santa Clara Report

I just got home after a few hour drive from the show so the report will be short. I'm tired. I was only able to attend today and not Thursday or Friday.

- In the morning it was really busy. I have not seen that many collectors at any Saturday during a Santa Clara show before.

- Lots of coins seemed to be selling! I saw money trading hands all over.

- In the afternoon I was standing at a dealers table, when the next table over they caught a guy stealing coins. Another collector spotted him doing it and alerted the dealer. The thief tried to leave but a off duty cop held him down until show security arrive. They arrested him and found his pockets full of stolen coins right there at the table.

- I was able to buy a few nice coins but not much. Dealers had many MS-64 morgans priced at $50 or more (above greysheet). Maybe they anticipate higher prices. Type coins seemed to be selling well in the $200-800 range.

- I got the chance to chat with Mikey and Carlwolforth today. Always nice to meet both guys again and talk coins.

I was supposed to be there but I cannot shake this dam cold. I will try and make it tomorrow for a short stint.....if not, I guess I will just have to ogle everyone else's coins for the time being..........................

Sounds like a great time and a good show. I envy you as I wish I could have gone.
