Right about now I'd bet Marty is wishing he'd sent this one to Teletrade!

  • Perhaps, but Marty makes up for it by charging $435 for shipping.

    BITE ME!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • Hmmmm, Let's do the math.

$7 to $16 for the set of proofs that held this coin.

$30 for the grade and slab

    $3.50 for the auction

    Sells for +$1,500 to Russ

Russ takes coin and lists on Heritage. Makes $250 to $400 over juice.

How long did it take Marty to find the Premo coin?
This is a very dumb ass thread. - Laura Sperber - Tuesday January 09, 2007 11:16 AM image

Hell, I don't need to exercise.....I get enough just pushing my luck.
  • Poor guy only made 47000% profit on the coin image

You are forgetting all the misses. So let's discount a few hundred for them image
  • I think Russ and Marty need to be renamed "Root" and "Toot". They both root around in the dirt on EBAY and when they find an acorn; they both "Toot" about it! image
Never try to stop a pig from getting dirty. It is an impossible task and it annoys the pig!

Russ, you and Madmarty make it sound very easy to obtain high value modern coins. However, I have seen you sell tons of rolled 64 proofs of different denominations cheap on eBay. Come on and admit it, it ain't that easy!

I have gone through thousands of 71 sets looking for THE Kennedy.. It would have been a KILLER coin if PCGS had not ceritfied 24 CRAPPY ones! I have deen them on TT and wonder how they got into PCGS PR69DCAM holders. If I were to pay 2K for a proof and found it had a huge gash on the shield, it would be finding a new home up David Hall's rear end. I have submitted around 100 of these over the years and have come close many times. Plenty of 69CAMs and 68DCAMs.... Russ did well and knows how to turn a buck... He is my hero you know.... For all you high end Kennedy collectors out there you just let Russ steal a PRIMO coin from you... But I guess in the registry worlk it's buy the insert not the coin... Congrats Russ!

Last one sold on Teletrade for $1750 not far off from what yours sold. I would speculate that maybe that was the reserve on the Teletrade Coin. Maybe time to rethink putting a reserve on your high end Kennedies, at least just to test the water.
