PCGS now at 45 days for economy service

I am a new PCGS collector. the 45 days seems a long time. I sent in 14 coins thinking it would be 15-21 days. Now i got to wait 45. Is it always that long, or is there some sort of a problem at PCGS.

  • Oh, the humanity of it all.
  • What made you think 15-21 days? It has been over 55 days for economy submissions for about 8 months now or longer.

From the majority of my experience (There are a couple exceptions), I've gotten economy submissions back in 21 or less *WORKING* days.
  • Welcome to the forums, and I hope they get your coins done soon! What did you submit?

I almost always do the 15 day submission and get coins back ontime.
  • Like a year ago wasn't economy like 15 days?

  • I got a 21 day submission back in 16 days and a supposedly 45 day submission back in 28 days.

I think they may be improving. I hope my current "45" day submission comes back in 28, that would be excellent.

Heck, I'd be thrilled if I could get my coins back in as little as 45 days.

I just got back a "45-day" submission that took 55 days. My "45-day" submission before that took 75 days. The 45-day submission I'm waiting on right now has been 55 days.

And paying more for faster service doesn't necessarily get the job done: One of my recent "15 day" submissions for one crossover coin took 56 days. (Yes, 56 days for a 15-day submission! image ) So I got a free grading voucher; big deal.
    When in doubt, don't.
  • I think smoeone once waited as long as 150 days for their submission, some get theirs back in as little as two weeks or less.

Welcome to the Boards. Welcome to the "world of broken promises" in submissions. I've heard some horror stories but time will pass and you'll eventually get your coins back either holdered a point or two lower than you thought or back in the dreaded "body bag". Submissions can be a rude awakening.

    Good Luck !

  • My last one took 28 days after the computer said they got it. Weclcome to the boards. Around the upcoming holidays, 45 days will seem fast probably.

Keep in mind it's 45 business days, minus days they are at major coin shows as well.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

It is not business days according to David Hall. He has specifically pointed out during more than one Q&A session that it is calendar days.
    When in doubt, don't.
