I am a new PCGS collector. the 45 days seems a long time. I sent in 14 coins thinking it would be 15-21 days. Now i got to wait 45. Is it always that long, or is there some sort of a problem at PCGS.

I think they may be improving. I hope my current "45" day submission comes back in 28, that would be excellent.

I just got back a "45-day" submission that took 55 days. My "45-day" submission before that took 75 days. The 45-day submission I'm waiting on right now has been 55 days.
And paying more for faster service doesn't necessarily get the job done: One of my recent "15 day" submissions for one crossover coin took 56 days. (Yes, 56 days for a 15-day submission! ) So I got a free grading voucher; big deal.
Welcome to the Boards. Welcome to the "world of broken promises" in submissions. I've heard some horror stories but time will pass and you'll eventually get your coins back either holdered a point or two lower than you thought or back in the dreaded "body bag". Submissions can be a rude awakening.
Good Luck !

Keep in mind it's 45 business days, minus days they are at major coin shows as well.

Somehow I was under the wrong impression I guess.....
