Attached below is a 1861 Seated half fresh out of a long held collection. Please give me grade opinions on this half. I want to get it fitted for a plastic suit at Newport Beach, Cali. Thanks in advance.

I call it a very nice AU-58 ,or ms63.

Minimum, AU-58 if there's a little rub. If not, probably about MS-64, maybe even 65 depending on underlying luster. There are very few hits compared to a typical Seated half. This appears to be a very nice coin. Even if this coin is a technical 58, it's probably worth an MS-62 bid.
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
1) Look carefully at the coin. Is that wear on the eagle's beak, or is it the lighting?
2) Is that wear on the eagle's rt. wingtip (to the viewer's lt.,) or is that just how the coin was struck?
3) Is that wear on Miss Liberty's rt. knee (to the viewer's left)? Can't tell from the pic.
Is the pic the coin's actual color? I'd tend to think not; the pic looks like an indoor photo taken with a flash, with too much yellow-orange color.
The coin has a good strike and clean surfaces, but with that stuff around the head, I don't see it in a 5 holder. The No Motto Halves I've seen have lots of eye appeal. The TPGs will cut you some slack re Miss Liberty's head not being fully struck and the nearby stars being soft. A few minor tickmarks or hairlines seem to be okay as well.

Good luck, hope you get that 65.
