Being a Bonds fan at this point, is a lot like being a devil worshiper. If you don't care that most everyone hates you for your beliefs, including Bond's own teamates, then go for it.
To me, Bonds is a disgrace to Baseball, and he takes away from the accomplishments of all the real winners of MVP awards who didn't have to cheat to win them.
Maybe the 'roids didn't make his bat swing faster, and maybe Rose never did bet against his own team, and maybe Clinton only lied under oath about sex, and maybe Michael Jackson really only wanted to 'sleep' with his little boys friends,

I think you CAN make a comparison between the two based on like at bats. I have already shown that Williams just KILLS Bonds in EVERY catagory including walks and homers. If anyone had the Advantage it was Bonds as he didn't take 1999-2004 out to fight a war....and yet even with that, Williams still had better stats, batted .400 and hit for the triple crown.
I really don't see how anyone can sit here and say that it is even close!
Bonds will go down not as the greatest hitter of all time, but as a poor sport, pompas jerk who cheated. He might have the home run crown by then but he will never be better than Williams in hitting or as loved as Ripken...just accept that.

SAN FRANCISCO - Barry Bonds' weight trainer told federal agents "he didn't think he should be talking anymore because he didn't want to go to jail" after they confronted him with evidence that he had supplied the San Francisco Giants star with steroids, court records show.
According to an investigator's report filed in U.S. District Court on Friday, weight trainer Greg Anderson broke off an interview with federal agents on Sept. 3, 2003, when they showed him a file that appeared to detail steroid use by Bonds, Anderson's client and lifelong friend.
It's ashame these federal agents couldn't show some of the guys on this board the same evidence against Bonds thats talked about above.

Ive never understood why people bring personality into arguments about talent and performance.
There is no rule that a great ball player has to be a nice guy and Ive always found it interesting that people always demand that of superstars. There are always many exceptions, but many times the person that has extreme skills in one area is usually lacking in another (in many cases social skills). You see that in sports, music, arts and so on. It just doesnt make any sense to me.

I am in full understanding that you people believe that steroids and Bonds go together like...peas and carrotts.
What I have a problem with is these guys keep talking about his character and other nonsense. Nobody intellentgly responded to my posts except for the same old garbage....he is a jerk,Williams is better (JOE STALINS only response) so on and so on. I make character referals to other players and JS gets all flustered and says I cant do that when he uses Williams EVERY TIME! You guys sound like a bunch of broads.

He didn't. You are a joke. I think you know it, as it is seen in your posts. As far as my mention of the marlin, it was meant to show that Ted Williams is known for many things .... Bonds is known for his tainted numbers and his Mr. Potato Head.
perkdog - I do not have a problem with Bonds personality. Albert Belle was an arse, and I thought he was the best player in the game at that time.
There is no rule that a great ball player has to be a nice guy and Ive always found it interesting that people always demand that of superstars. There are always many exceptions, but many times the person that has extreme skills in one area is usually lacking in another (in many cases social skills). You see that in sports, music, arts and so on. It just doesnt make any sense to me.
Let me further say that I respect people's opinion and understand that we are not going to agree on things, that is the fun of these threads. Just give good arguments that make sense. Thats all

Whats wrong expecting these millionares to be a litte civil at times? After all Bonds is just another guy with
a fat head without baseball! If there are no fans and no ticket sales Bonds is nothing! The problems is this:
Baseball players start at a low level and we as fans build them up by supporting them, buying the products
they endorse, buying tickets and hotdogs...then they start to put up numbers and suddenly they don't
need to care about that anymore?
How come Cal Ripken can be considered the best at this postion AND one of the best guys in baseball? Ill take
Ripken's personality over 800 homers ANY DAY OF THE YEAR! Those of you who think sports are just about
the numbers are missing the point.
The irony here is that the more Bonds wins or the more records he breaks the further he loses the
support of many fans. He will be sitting in a room one day with all the other disgruntled ball players...Mays,
Aaron, with really no fans at all. We already saw here what little fans he has when he isn't hitting
the long ball! Without the freak show this guy is nothing and in comparison to Ruth and Williams, he is
just a little man with a big head!

OK, decent points there, Im not ignorant to understanding your point there. As 1420 stated earlier that he thinks Bonds is a "potato head" Im ok with that. Steroids? Im even ok with people suspecting that. An A-Hole ? again Im ok with that as well. If you want to argue those points that is ok. I will not be as defensive about it, but when you want to down him as a player because of those factors then I dissagree 100 %. We can argue #'s all day long and Bonds #'s speak for themselves.
On another note if you have an ounce of integrity you will stop ignoring me in the other thread about our "bet".....Dont make Me go public with it...............

Kobe buying the ring was a bad move. Kobe had a extra-marital affair - bad move, but it happens. Like many others, I saw the possibilty that this girl was p/o'd, nuts, or money hungry. It happens as well.
Did you ever wonder that the charges were dropped because the prosecution had nothing but a case of "Hey, I'll call you tomorrow but doesn't"? That happens alot.
