    Looks cleaned an re-toned to me, but I'll defer to the more seasoned IHC experts.

    I'd say cleaned. "Newly exposed" copper surfaces tend to get those colors.

    I'd vote cleaned, recolored. It was probably done a long time ago, put in an envelope containing sufur and allowed to retone.
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    I agree with everyone else that it looks like it was cleaned and then retoned. So does that make it semi-NT if it retoned slowly in an envelope?? Or just 100% AT because it's been cleaned??

    I would say NT. I guess it would be like 99 year old virgin...Yes she's a virgin...but do you really care anymore. image

    It's a "MULA" coin (messed up long ago), so NT is irrelevant.image
