Cool $20 pattern

What I like about this coin (Lot 41, upcoming ANR auction):





1. It is pedigreed back to its direct purchase from the mint.
2. It is also pedigreed to the Garrett collection.
3. About a half dozen exist.
4. It's stunning appearance (nicely toned copper)

Just a wee bit too high priced for my wallet..........but certainly a very nice pattern and one that I would love to own

I like it. It reminds me of the 1854 $20 Kellogg I used to own.

I also wanted to add that this coin is prettier than the standard issue Liberty head, IMO.

I think I'm a wannabe pattern collector. I really admire the designs, pedigrees, and beautiful toning.

I am lacking three things that would make me successful and content collecting patterns:
1. patience
2. money
3. cajones (to collect something that is as thinly traded)

This coin has a lot going for it:

1) Great pedigree
2) very rare high R7 less than 6 known (10x rarer than the gold proof at 1/5 the price)
3) finest known (I have seen it in hand and it is sweet)
4) Perfect for the grade (the coin is exactly what you would expect for a 65 rb)

I might add that I hope Roberts estimated sale price is accurate!
