  • There was one I saw where this guy stole a coin collection and he was a coin doctor. They found sulphur in the trunk of his car or somethingortheotherlikethat. They mentioned the key 1909-S VDB, and 1916-D Merc. Also, a guy died from a blow to the head from some poker statue thingy.

  • There's an old one where a guy borrows money against ultra rare Roman coins but doesn't really have the coins so there's a murder. I forget how they catch the killer.

Dang, I own examples of both of those. I'd better be careful. Luckily I dont have any poker statue thingys laying around.

It's pretty good. Going into the final 10 minutes. About a Holocaust survivor who bought the coins at a London auction in 1931 so as to stash some of his money from what he saw as a rise in Hitler's Germany.

    Oops it's back on

  • Enjoy the show!!--I've seen it three times--but then I'm a Law and Order nut--was sick for about 6 months 2 years ago after a rafting trip in the interior of Mexico (don't eat raw crab and drink tequila in Veracruz) and saw each episode over and over. This is a good episode.

    Edited to say:

Should have said --don't drink a lot of tequila and then eat raw crab in the Veracruz plaza at midnight, after four days on the river---when will I ever learn?

I missed the beginning but caught it in between. I did get the part about 20 lots being sold to 20 different bidders in 1931 and it turned out that the NY Dealer was trying to scam people by claiming he had been able to put all the lots from that sale together after 65 years of them being spread around the world.

One of the Hollocaust survivors ( the guy who bought 3 "gold Cleopatra's ) ( ? ) daughter murdered one of the business partners of the dealers.

The dealer got 5 years for fraud as it was obviously not possible to put such a collection together ( or is it?) and the daughter of the survivor got I think 8 years for manslaugher.

The only coins that I saw was a copy of an auction catalogue. I wish I taped it.

Ahhh, gotta watch out when rare coins are involved!

    Hahaha
