What if only ANA members could sell coins on ebay?

I was just thinking and thought about what would happen if the ANA and ebay took their parternship a bit further. Suppose that to sell in the US Coins category on ebay, you had to be a member of the ANA. I think it would get rid of a boatload of scumbags and greatly improve the buying experience. Sure, at first the scammers just pay their $25 or whatever it is to join the ANA - but when the complaints come in, they get kicked out and hence can no longer sell on ebay. It would then be much easier to hold all sellers to one standard - just use the ANA's membership requirements and code of ethics. I'm not suggesting that buyers should also have to be members (thinking family members buying gifts for collector relatives/friends), but I would feel much more confident buying coins on ebay if I knew the seller was an ANA member. While we're dreaming, it would be nice if they could put in a form at the bottom of the auction to report any auctions you feel are fradulent, and have them looked at in a timely manner. Of course, this will never happen, since ebay would lose tons of money in fees from the scammers, but it sure would be nice. What are your thoughts?

Edited to add: Oh. You already said that. OK, in that case, yes, I agree.
eBay should just step up and really take down the fraud.

I agree. The ANA can go you know what. Bite me, in case you couldn't figure it out.
The ANA? What a joke. You like the way the ANA handled itself with ACG, do you?
what does the little guy do, as a collector. we don't get the coins at 'sheet', and when we sell, we get killed by fees. another fee for the little guy? NO!
The idea has good merit, but then loads of scumbags will join the ANA and the eBay problem will become the ANA's problem. The ANA will
be the one with the headache of weeding out thousands of scammers.

And as they weed them out and expell them, they will then just send in another application under a false name, get a new ANA nuber for their ebay listing and just keep right on scamming. the whole time proudly displaying their ANA membership number so you can buy with confidence.
End result
Collectors continue to get scammed, probably even more so since their faith in the ANA caused them to let their guard down some.
Scammers continue raking it in.
The ANA get a real bad black eye out of the whole deal.

<< <i>Actually that many people joining ANA might make them too profitable and they'd lose their Non-Profit Status. >>
It wouldn't have any effect on their non profit status. I work for a non profit that has over 4 billion in assets.
why isn't this a 2-way street?

if it's such an issue that the ana should get involved, i think them running their own auctions is excellent.

Reading through so far, my original idea does sounds stupid. I think you may be on to something here, though.
