Nice 1887 Morgan, Can You Help Me Guess The Grade ??

This is a 1887 That I just bought. Paid good money for it.
Can you help me guess the Grade on this coin.

Do you think should I send it to PCGS ???

? AU58. not a lot of luster (may be the photo), maybe a little rub also (but again may be the photo)

Approximately AU-55, IMO, and probably bagged for rim damage. I don't think most common-date Morgans are worth submitting unless you think you can get a 65 or better.

It's very hard to tell the grade without seeing how much luster is on the coin.
The coin looks very flat and lack-luster in the scan. That may be because of the
scan. As far as marks, the coin looks clean enough for at least MS-63. I suspect
the coin has more luster than the scan is showing but its hard to tell.

I don't think the coin is worth sending in for a grade.

Taking pictures of coins is an art form. There are several very good threads
you can search to learn more.

ms-63. defintely NOT worth getting in plastic (as if any coin is....)
