Problems? Original? MS? Circulated?

Guess your grade and I'll reveal it all in awhile...

(I know there is only the obverse photo'ed... grade based on that...)

How about a few comments regarding how we could/should have known it was a copy, even if it had not been designated as such? I'll start - the stars, especially at the lower left, are way too strong/detailed for the coin to be genuine.

It's a fake. I made my guess before I read the rest of the posts.

What 's the point of slabbing fakes? MS64? Mintage unknown?image

Far too much detail in the hair - looks like spaghetti like the current Washington quarters. Denticles are different too - should be rounded.

It's a Brockage. The Gallery Mint minted only four like this one (information PCI didn't have, thus the 'mintage unknown).

Someone at the Gallery Mint had it in their coin cabinet at their museum for awhile and it was allowed to tone.

Edited to add: I think it's kind of cool looking and sent it in myself, a few years back, to have it holdered.

Fake. And not even a good enough fake to make Martin's book image

Man that hair is ugly. Looks like really bad dreadlocks.
