Scan doesn't show the true lusteron the coin I tryed different res. this was the best I got, a dark backround looks worse. The tinge of green I don't see on the coin just the scan.

Vet, your three cent piece is a lot cleaner than mine. Don't like the idea of a bath. Maybe someone can post one that's been dipped so we can see what it might look like.
I'm not sure how acetone reacts to nickel. I was going to try a toothpick on mine someday to see if it was crud or corrosion which I'm sure some is corrosion probably from the crud.
Your right Jeremy saying that it still had luster was a bad choice of words. I think the coin is VF I used the word luster to say that it wasn't as dull and flat as the scan shows.

Granted the dullness is from the scan, but VF coins by definition basically don't have lustre. EF-40 might have a trace left.
