I have an old Mint bag, but how would you be able to tell an age on something like that???? I know typically the denomination is on Bags, but the dates wouldn't be....would they?

Yeh, I'd like to find one of the old silver $ bags myself. I would also like to purchase one of the GSA order forms and brochure. Pretty neat stuff I think.

I recall seeing one of the originals on eBay about four years ago. I can't recall what it looked like but I do recall it was surprisingly expensive (~$100).

Most actual Mint bags that I have seen DO have the date and mint of the coin they contain printed on them.

Yes, I have a couple (1881-S , 1884-O) and they do have the date on them as well as what mint they're from and the words U.S. Treasury and $1000.00 Dollars

The original bags also came with a tag also indicating the mint, denomination, and other pertinent info.
