"The $5 gold JR that I paid $300 for years ago now sells for $1,500-$2k so I guess I have a smug grin on my face. I'm pretty sure that I could sell most of my 1997 slabs and get pretty much what I paid for them. 2 way street."
Dog - I bought one last month for my personal set at $2,300 (MS69), although I heard they have now been selling in the $2,500-$2,750 range. I also heard Mint issue price on this coin was around $180 in 1997, but, I am not 100% certain of that - perhaps you know? Even $200 to roughly $2,600 in -7- years isn't that bad for a modern or classic coin.

wondercoin- I've seen no-sales on eBay @ $2.5k but if you say they did break the $2k barrier then it well pleases me. I'm not sure what the issue price was-I bought mine on the secondary market around 1998. I wish I had bought several hundred of them but you know what the collector attitude toward Modern Commems was back then.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
