Walking liberties

Hello all,
I just found 7 rools of walking liberties in this collection I am still browsing. (sheeesh, this is gonna take years.) Anyway, the at first appearance all seem to very well circulated. Is there nything special I should be looking for? Thanx in advance.

  • Get a list of the better dates and look for them. My guess is that these are bullion rolls andyou won't find anything very scarce.

have fun and see if you can make a date set.

Yeah, 1921 any mint, and 1916 with the date on the obverse. If you find one of those let me know.

Many people know more about Walkers than I do. Circulated dates to look for, just for starters:

Any coin with a 1921 date, regardless of mintmark. Look for mintmarks on the obverse (same side as the date) near the rim about 8:00 (I think the exception here is the 1917 re mintmarks).

1938 D is a scarce date for a circulated Walker.
I think 1916 and 1917 are as well, but I am not sure.

In general, the earlier dates (teens and twenties) will carry a higher premium. Coins from 1935 to 1947, excepting the 38 D, are considered type coins if they're circulated.
