eBay sellers, what day do you select for closing day?

Mark Feld just posted a reco for Premium Numismatics which had the desired effect of my looking at what he has. I also noticed an interesting policy of theirs. They close their auctions on Wednesday.

Sure this must have been discussed before, but can't find in a search on "ebay" and "day."

So.......new poll.

I've found Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to be good days. Stay away from having things end on Monday, Friday or Saturday.

I use Tues, Wed and Thur almost exclusively.

It fits in with my lifestyle.

  • I've gotten the most money ending on Sunday, Saturday then Wednesday, in that order. Ending times always in the evening!

I try to end auctions on Saturdays.

I like to know exactly what I'm going to have available for sale at Sunday shows before I attend and it gives me some time to do the paperwork required at the end of the auctions.

Thursday first and then Sunday, which one depends if I am going to be home on Friday or not.

  • I have found that Sunday's suck frankly. Their are so many auctions ending that night that your auctions can really get lost unless your selling something quite rare or you are using some of the spendy ebay features like bold, outline, or featured plus. I have ran duplicates on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of the same coins and found much better prices on Friday and Saturday.
  • I would reccommend spending the 25 cents for the picture gallery on every auction.

Anything worth more than $100 I would begin on Thursday and go ten-day format so the auction
1- is posted through two full weekends of bidding
    2- ends on Sunday

    What Robert said PLUS....
    3. End it about 8:30 PM PST
    4. Space simlar items at least 5 mins apart

  • I sell mostly circulated dimes and have the best luck
    with a Saturday afternoon close.
