The appearance of areas of lighter color seemingly sitting on top of the darker colored background in the obverse fields is a telltale sign. dk's right.
I have some experience with this type coloration. Looks like a wet fingers are the cause of the light areas on the coin and the green is natural toning gone wild. I have one similar to it, only mine isn't green. It does have a wet fingerprint. 1906 Obverse 1906 Reverse

DK is right on this. The color on the coin is not right. This is also an AU coin all day long. Look at the hair below LIBERTY; you'll see slight wear. Also, it looks like there is some wear on the upper two diamonds. The coin, while well struck (most of the 1900 & ater date P mint IHCS are well struck), but there are two noticeable large spots on the reverse, above the E in one, and to the lt. of the shield, just above the lt. wreath.
It may be an AU 55, or maybe an AU 58 for that matter, but it doesn't affect the coin's value much. IMO, the price is right, but you didn't rip the coin.

I had an IHC BB'd at PCGS for "questionable color" - I still don't see it even with the coin in hand! This one looks a bit "off" to me, but obviously, I'm no expert on this!

I don't see anything that would quality for obvious wear, at least not in the scan. Funny thing about Indians is that you can still find UNC's for the price of AU at most shows. Sellers often grade on weak diamonds or other issues. Finding wholesome MS63's for AU money is always fine. The only problem is, no matter what they are, not too many dealers want to pay more than $5-10 for a brown Indian cent unless it has luster to beat the band. And dodging the recolored ones only makes one's job tougher.
Roadrunner, take a look at the lower curl to the right of the diamonds. There's your obvious wear. I can't comment as to the originality of the coin but technically I think the dealer's assessment of AU-50 was very fair.
