keets's thread on the coin and case made me think on how many sets I've destroyed for profit. Proof Sets, Mint Sets, Commemorative sets - broken up to get out a coin to slab for a profit.
How many original sets have you opened to get out one or two coins?

<< <i>A few. I do it even when it's not for profit. I cut up and remove the coins from every 1964 proof set I buy, whether I'm submitting them or not.

Keep on going Russ! Eventually the 150 various intact sets I have will go up in value.

On the flip side, I have a nicely toned Roosie set in a Wayte Raymond album that I won't break up despite having received numerous lucrative offers to do so.
