Premiums on Franklin Half Dollars.

Besides the fact that "98% FBL" looks a little generous, is this sort of premium for a 1953-S Franklin Half Dollar that is very close to FBL reasonable?

  • If it is truly 98% FBL, I think it would be worth a premium, say, double bid or so. Certainly not worth this kind of asking price!

BUT, this coin only looks about 75% FBL to me. Of course , it may look bolder in hand, but frankly, I doubt it.

It seems high, but I'd need to see the coin.

  • I disagree entirely - a full bell line coin is just that - 98% FBL is not full bell line, so I would definitely not give a premium for that coin
