I have a neighbor who purchased a PR70 1970s and the coin is quite beautiful.......with the exception of a big die crack at k-3 starting from about 10% from the rim to almost the back of the neck. Why would they grade it at that level?

The lowest grade I've seen them give is a MS-67 that looked circulated.

The have eliminated the costs associated with grading, by simply printing up PR70CAM labels and inserting any coin into the holder.
On the plus side, they seem to be able to identify the coin and date correctly (at least most of the time).
