Paypal credit for usage outage

Got this e-mail:
"Recently, the PayPal site had technology issues that may have hindered your ability to conduct business using PayPal.

To show our appreciation for your continued business, we're going to credit you for PayPal transaction fees incurred on October 28, 2004, between 12:00:00 AM PDT and 11:59:59 PM PDT.† "

I don't get this. If I'm not selling anything tomorrow the 28th I won't have any fees. How is this beneficial? Why don't they credit the fees for when the site was down?

You're thinking too much. Just accept it for what it is; a hollow gesture.

Maybe I'll hurry up and set up some one day auctions that only accept Paypal that day! Thanks for the advance warning paypal.
  • They might as well have reversed the numbers and said from 11:59:59PM PDT to 12:00:00 AM PDT

How could you have incurred fees during the outage if it was down?

The service was completely out for awhile but then even after that it was very erradict. I did recieve payments during this time when the service was up and down.
  • I betcha the fees still get charged, even though they say they won't.

  • According to the e-mail, they do, but they'll issue credit later. *rolls eyes*

We should all get together with each other & keep PayPal-ing $1000 back & forth all day.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

Excellent idea. Everybody PayPal me $1000. I promise I'll PayPal it back.
