I'm so elated right now that I can almost forget about my typical luck: Today was my sister's birthday so my daughter and I went down to my parents' house this afternoon to go to dinner with the family. Afterward, I watched the game with my dad on his brand spankin' new high-definition big screen. Pretty cool, but not as cool as what could have been. I got home just awhile ago and my wife tells me, "You're going to be pissed when you check the messages." Sho'nuff, I hit play on the answering machine and hear this: "Yawie. Murphy. Game 7. I have an extra ticket. Call me as soon as you can." Might finally be time for a cell phone.

That sucks! I feel your pain. I could have had tickets to the last two games but I'm out of town on business. Watching it in a lonely hotel room sucks but calling everyone you know to celebrate makes it a little easier.
