Oh, NO! Day two of the hostage situation #3248343!!!!

No grades again today.
Recieved the same day as #3248342 (11-1894-P's).
How much harder are 93-S's to grade than 94-P's?
Why don't they contact Lee? No monitary hostage demands yet although I've told her to pay it.
This doesn't bode well for PCGS because we have tons of dollars to submit and if they are going to hold every one that goes above the magic $3000 mark, PCGS VALUE GUIDE, of course, and demand thier pound of flesh (OOOOPS! I meant $20 each coin) then we may need to reconsider who gets the business

Quit whining. There are plenty of us who've had submissions in longer than the two of yours that have already posted.

Edited to add: Your submission is nowhere near the 15 business day mark.

I'm still waiting for my 7/30 world economy submission! Those graders must really like those weenie dollars!!!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • Russ,
From Sept. 27 til Oct. 15 is 15 business days Toady is day 17 on a 15 day guarantee.
The higher level is a 7 day guarantee.

My invoice 9026368 was received on 7/12. image

Kenzo, why don't you try calling them on the phone if you're so concerned. Threatening to take your business elsewhere will get you nowhere.

I don't know anything about the inner workings of PCGS, but I hope that they ARE harder to grade. Five 93-S's landing on their doorstop couldn't be an everyday occurrence. If I were them, I'd want to take a second (third, fourth) look at that lot. I bet their counterfeit/legit ratio is higher than for many other dates, and the definitely don't want something slipping through...

Not even close. You're on business day 8. There were two shows with on-site grading and a holiday. I have one in that hit 9.23, and it's only on day 12.

Yeah, I think $25,000 is a bit more than the $3,000 limit image

The value limit is per coin, not for the entire submission. He did exceed it with the 1893-S's, but PCGS doesn't really care unless it's a much larger spread than this.

I was talking about the $25,000 price listed for the 1893-S in AU condition in the PCGS Price Guide.

Edit: Nevermind, I misread the grade results. I'm retarded.

The Au-58 coins are 93-p's not S mint and your talking 50K plus coins in 58? if it were the 93-s's

I see the correction, but dont feel bad, I read it the same way for a second??

Oh by the way, Kenzo T, youll be happy to know that the CDN just raised the bid "again" on the 93-s In Xf today.
  • Just came in from afternoon of playing and singing country music in a local pub.
Darn it, got it wrong again, 2 XF-40's where I saw 35's. Maybe I'm too conservative in my grading (not my politics).
Next week we are gonna find out about the1895-O's, I think. Week after that, we'll find out about my politics, I THINK!
Lee wants to own a sports bar, and let me play there, so this $2 in pocket change, from the last turn of the century, could make her dreams come true! Mine too!
I forgive all that had doubts about my claims about this hoard in the last few weeks. It was a pretty hard lump to swallow.
    But, "Who"s Your Daddy?"
Get to go back into the bank "cave" tomorrow!
Hope I sleep tonight because I hate it when everything looks like a doubled die!
Let you know what I find.
  • This has truly been a deal that dreams are made of. Are you still planning on ebaying the coins for the 5% mentioned in your first post?
  • nwcsnwcs Posts: 13,386 ✭✭✭
Man, the hoard of a lifetime. CoinWorld ought to interview these people!
  • Interviews, over my dead body, until I've been through every roll and that means her brothers, and mothers, too.
I think I can grade pretty well (1 over and 2 under so far). If I'm correct about the 1895-O's (I say one 63 and one 64), she may be open to offers before a major auction just to get the cash to start the rest of her life. We should know about those by this time next month.
I'll keep you informed as to what I find tomorrow. This is so much fun because after we spend a few hours in the cold, lonely bank vault, going through thousands and thousands worth of coins, we go to the bar across the street from the bank and play video trivia and drink beer for the rest of the afternoon.
    Best of both lives!
  • Wow I am speechless.
    Somebody has been really busy.

  • Congrat to the Boston Red Sox!
My wife is from New Hanpshire and forced me to write this.....

    She's not looking....

    GO ASTRO's!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • For the record,i never dogged the HOARD !
Too easy to step on your pee pee.
We all shoulda learned this from Zulan and Mogadeets.

Lee wins the LOTTO and KENZO gets the big KUDOS for being the stand up guy as well as the GIANT wanker for being there at the right time !

Think Kenzo was pounding it every nite ? I sure as hell would have !

MAJOR "YOU SUCK" TO LEE AND KENZO !
