Another Milestone, Finshed My GEM Franklin Set

I reached yet another milestone today. I finished my High grade GEM raw Franklin Half set. Its taken me almost 5 years to assemble, and as with my Washington Quarters set I made a few dealers mad when I walked away from some nice coins because I wanted a better one. I'm two coins away from completing my high grade GEM raw Kennedy Half set with varieties, and two coins away from completing my high grade GEM raw Jefferson Nickel set. Hopefully they will be completed soon. I have all but one of the proofs to this set, I'll post them when I get that last one. Here is my Franklin Set. (Luck, behave!!)

  • Ken, the 4 extras are the proofs. I skipped a hole after the 1963's and start with 1963 proof and went backwards. What is shown is the 1963, 1962, 1961 and 1960. The next page has all of the other proofs except the 1954. I'm looking for it now.

  • Congrats! I have only three more to go until I finish mine.

Edited to say that when I'm finally done, I'll be working on a certified set. MS65 in afordable dates and 64 in the rest. I don't need FBL's

Cool. I always wonder what to do with the extra spaces in an album. I generally try to fill them with something different; like varieties or errors. Good luck finding that last proof. It's not a hard date to find, but it doesn't look like you'll settle for the first one you come across. image

  • Looks great...all white too!, an extra difficult accomplishment if they are true gems!
