With a flamethrower like that, you could "tone" Kennedies by the roll!!!!!!!!!!!imageimage

  • when you heat a coin, it causes acceleration of the natural toning process-i.e. reaction with sulphur compunds in the air.

image It is amazing that these coins have such high bids when original coins of the same date and grade would get little action. As for how he did it, I would guess that his mentioning "gunmetal blue" is a clue. As for what he did it in, I'd guess

The reverse of the coin reminds me very much of the Kennedy on the right of the Sac in the attached picture below. This is my AT reference set I made a while back to help me tell the difference between AT and NT.

  • << <i>They all came from an original hoard of BU singles that were wrapped in tissue and stored in little paper envelopes back in the late 1960’s. This is a premium coin as it is very difficult to find silver Kennedy halves with attractive and colorful toning. Please feel free to e-mail with questions. Also, if you are interested in the origins of the amazingly toned coins I’ll be offering over the next weeks and months, feel free to ask. I acquired them en masse in an estate deal and the details of the story are interesting. Good luck and happy bidding! >>

Hey guys, that's what he says - and he has 100% positive feedback - image has anyone thought to email him and ask?

  • Oven toned. I asked for the story of where these coins came from. I'll post his no doubt humorous response, if I ever get one.
