I'm talking about coin club meetings, not coin shows.

  • Two meetings a month. One in my town (I am the Secretary) and one in a town an hour north of me.

  • There are no coin clubs in my town, the closest ones being an hour away... and gas prices currently forbid me from attending...

There is no coin club in Grand Junction, Colorado. About 15 years ago there was, but the secretary, who had everyone's addresses, got someone to break into their houses during a meeting and steal all their coins. image

I attend our local coin club meetings. (I am the President)

I have wanted to attend coin club meetings, and there were no local clubs in our town. So after complaining for a few years, I finally took the plunge myself, and started it two years ago. It really isn't that hard. So for the people who do not have a local club, start one yourself.

We have a local club that meets twice a month. I attend as many as I can. There's usually never anything of worthy purchase at them, but its still fun to get together and bs with the local folks.

I have been a member of the club since I was about 9, but had two leaves of absence since that time. One being when I was going to high school/college, gave up on coins for about 6-7 years or so, then when I traveled for HUD, since I was not at home during that 5 year tenure. Been an active member for going on 3 good years again, and dont see any more leaves unless I kill over.

  • We have two clubs in Greenville, SC that meet weekly, one on Tue. the other on Thur. Average attendance is 30+ for each. Somewhat unusal from what I understand.

4 or more. A lot of time I got some kind of crap happening & can't go and when I go there's always some newbies there looking at me like I'm a newbie till the old timers talk to me.

I don't but I should. I was contemplating joining the Des Moines club but their meeting time conflicts with another meeting that I have.

  • I recently joined a long-running local club that holds a monthly meeting. I plan
to attend at least every other month - hopefully more often as time permits.

I attend once a month unless there's a fifth Thursday in the month, which means an extra meeting (don't ask me how they came up with that rule).

  • Too many other priorities to attend coin club meetings -- pending move, pending marriage, pending further education, and so on. Eventually though, I'll probably join one and attend at least 3-4 meetings a year.

Wow! Over 40% say they wouldn't even know where to find a coin club meeting.
