1921 and 1921-D MS-64 Walkers sell for HUGE premiums at ANR sale

The 1921 walker sold for 50% ABOVE the PCGS Price Guide of $9800 and the 1921-D sold for $5000 or so ABOVE the price guide of $14,000.

Now those are STRONG PRICES!

  • Very strong prices. Either 1) the coins were very nice for the grade and he/she is now very happy to add them to his/her collection, or 2) a dealer bought the coins with the intention of getting them upgraded at NGC or PCGS. Either way, they must have been nice for the assigned grade.

  • Is the PCGS price guide correct for these dates? High or low? Just wondering.

Jade: The ANR pics that I saw of these two coins made me think these were PQ for the grade. Who bought them? Good question. At that price level they could have gotten the MS-65's at nearly the same price according to my records which may now be faulty.

Kiefer: In my opinion, PCGS pricing for these coins and many other early walkers have been remarkably accurate as of late.
