I had an early Commemorative bump from PCI VF30 to PCGS XF45. That's a fifteen point bump!

I've had crackouts bump 2 grades but never submitted a regrade service.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

I too have had several PCI circulated type coins grade considerably higher at PCGS. (But that's not really what this threads author is asking.)

    UP OR DOWN?????????????
  • I had a 10-S $10 Indian that went from PCGS MS61 to PCGS MS63 on a regrade. image
I'd rather be lucky than good.

I've had one go down 2 grades AU53 to XF45. image I like the coin either way. It was an old green holder so I was hoping for a 55 grade. That sould have increased its value significantly. 32-D quarter. I cracked it and put it into my Washington Dansco. Someday, I will resubmit.

A few people I know had more than two point upgrades in the "no-man's land" of MS 58 to MS 63 (ie, a 58 went to a 62, etc). This is one reason why I generally try to avoid coins in these grades. Your 63 could be the next guy's 58, especially in a hard to grade series.

I think Sadler's 10-s Lincoln went ms65 to ms67. For some (unknown) reason pcgs used to be brutal on 09-s and 10-s Lincolns. I've heard of tons of people upgrading theirs! My own I think are lock upgrades.

I've had two different Morgans go from XF45 to AU53.
    When in doubt, don't.
  • Let's see wasn't there an 1804 dollar that went from XF-45 to AU-58 or Better?
