Honest answer from ebay seller

I noticed a seller who leaves out "NTC" from their titles but not "NGC" or "PCGS". When I asked them why this is the response I got:
I guess for obvious reasons, to get people to look. We all know that NTC is Sub-standard.
They don't go so far as to say that in their auctions of course.

Yeah, if an auction says "certified" in the title, but doesn't contain a grading service acronym (which would be shorter and easier to type than the word "certified"), you have to wonder. Use to be, that meant nine out of ten times it was an ACG coin.
Nowadays, though, you never can tell. It might be ACG, NTC, TruGrade, or something stuck in a Coin World holder with somebody's do-it-yourself label. I even saw a "certified" coin in a Coin World holder with a handwritten label, once- remember that one? That was a laff riot. And the dude did not even have good handwriting!
Edit: maybe the seller you mentioned puts the name of the better services in his title because he is offering them as certified coins, but is selling the NTC stuff as if it were raw. (That's certainly the way I'd bid on it.)
