Even thought they are slightly angled, I think ANR is pretty good.

I don't know from best, but almost everything I get from DLRC is almost always better in hand than the posted images. What isn't is usually due to some undefinable quality that is not likely to be photographed.
Best,
Billy
If you were an internet dealer, I would choose you for best photographs. I think, in general, collectors here do the best coin photography on the internet.
RYK...are you wooing me???
and I'mNOT a dealer....but thank you...I'm blushing.
My vote goes to Ira Stein (iras4 on Ebay).

At least his DESCRIPTIONS are gorgeous!! When he starts photoing them let me know...if they are anything like the narrative they must be nice!!
IRA STEIN...Too dark!!

<< <i>wow whitlow does have great images...anyone buy from them? do they "deal"? >>
One of my favorite dealers.
I just can't understand why the biggest dealers have such crappy pics? You literally have NO idea what you are looking at with many of them. Some are ridiculously dark, many are totally flat in definition and color, others are simply amateurish guano.
You would think with the scale of E-commerce that they would have professional photographers taking the photos...anyone have any "excuse" why they don't care??!!

Al,
HUHHHHHH????
no, he's not a dealer (that i know of) but his photos are hands down the best !
Mark should be photo'ing for all of the major dealers and auction houses.
no doubt Mark is the tops...I have some of his photos just to look at them!! But I'm just trying to establish what DEALER has taken the time and effort to show their coins properly...and I'm coming to the conclusion that I started with that it's PRACTICALLY NONE!!! And I don't know why?? It's basically FREE whether you have bad scans or great scans. Other types of companies spend tens of millions of dollars promoting why their product is better than the competitor's, yet in thisi biz, which is a lay-up if you have the goods, nobody seems to understand that it would be good for them and the buyer to take the time!!
Man...I shouldn't get so worked up...
One dealer mentioned definately does something to his images. I've seen his coins at shows vs. on his web site. I don't think touch ups are wrong, but they are not realistic.
Also, I spoke to a couple of big dealers. They have indicated that they don't have the time to shoot and play with the images. If you think about it, after shows these guys handle handle hudreds of coins. From what I understand, its not about the equipment, its the touch ups.
I really don't like anyones images in particular.

Really?! Looks fine here.
Is your monitor calibrated (Adobe gamma, or similar)?

Nice pictures.
Check it out, you'll be as impressed as I was.

Coin collecting is not a hobby, it's an obsession !
New Barber Purchases
When it comes to imaging copper, I'd vote for Shylock. Not sure if he is a dealer, but I have seen some wonderful images of IHC and Lincolns.

Maybe they don't want you to see clear and defined pics of their coins or auctions lots.

More truth to this statement than most believe.

Guys, I KNOW THAT!! That's why I am asking the question. It's almost like the better he company, quality wise. the better the scans...even if it's s small company, like JoeO. Heritage....come on now!! I have seen more "bottom of te barrell" coins that I ever thought existed!!
But then ther are some truly good dealers that just don't put out the effort.
(can someone help with a link?)
Thanks

Right on - he's a dealer and shows his coins in his ebay store -
For a dealer with a websight, Mike DeFalco (coingame2000 - don't remember his website - I'll have to look for it & post it) has outstanding images
