PCGS Forum "member of the year" award?

How about we nominate some folks, and select an honored "forum member of the year" once each year, around Christmas? As a reward, maybe we could convince PCGS to give the winner 50 free submissions, or something similar. If not, the members could come up with an appropriate recognition. I've personally learned more on this forum in the last two years than my previous 50yr as a numismatist.
I'm the Proud recipient of a genuine "you suck" award dated 1/24/05. I was accepted into the "Circle of Trust" on 3/9/09.

It's not the smartass of the year award.

Too bad he doesn't know anything about coins.

Not to offend anyone, all have been good choices, but I don't like the idea. There's already too much here based on popularity and personality. Let's stick to coins and avoid the "who do we love the most" awards. Maybe then the newbies won't feel like they are walking into a forum of cliques and chronisms (which they are) and posters won't feel compelled to launch attacks on newbies to impress thier friends (seen that one too often).
Maybe I shoulda just let the thread die.
Thanks for the offer, but I'm afraid I'll have to decline the honor.

Actually, I agree with you. Not that I'm criticizing it because there's usually good reason for it, but I think some members' contributions are very obviously valued much more highly than others. That seems like recognition enough to me.

That already happens. It's inherent to any type discussion forum like this when a newbie enters. The only solution is for the newbie to start posting, asking, and yapping his trap like everyone else. Anyway I'm voting for David Hall. Since that's right out in the open, good honest brown nosing, I should get at least one free submission.

Nick is great but I happen to have met Lordmarcovan. Now Lord defines the word collector. I happen to still have the collection of seated libs he put together and you can tell the amount of time he put into it. Plus who else has the holey coins that he has???????????
Psssssst, how much did you say you'd pay me to say that? Oooops-we're live!

A good point; I hadn't really thought of the idea in that way. Thanks all for your imput.
